Grégoire Allaire

Grégoire Allaire is Professor of Applied Mathematics at l'Ecole Polytechnique. Wrote her doctoral thesis at the University Pierre et Marie Curie (Paris 6) in 1989, then took up a post-doctoral position in the Courant Institute of New York University before joining as a researcher at French Atomic Energy Commission. In 1997 he moved to the University of Paris 6 as Professor of Applied Mathematics and to the l'Ecole Polytechnique in 2000.

Professor Allaire's research focuses on mathematical modeling, numerical simulation and optimization of Physical and Mechanical Problems. He is a specialist in multi-scale analysis (homogenizing) and the optimization of shape and topology structures. He has published 8 books and over 160 articles investiagción. In 2013 he received the award Dargelos AX, the Association of Students of l'Ecole Polytechnique, in 2011 the EADS Foundation Prize and in 1993 the Blaise Pascal Prize GAMNI / SMAI delivered both by the French Academy of Sciences.
