Francisco Javier Sayas ("Pancho") is a Professor in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Delaware, an institution working since 2010. Before coming to Delaware, he was titutlar visiting professor at the University of Minnesota for three years . He earned his doctorate at the University of Zaragoza in 1994, with the external address Crouzeix Michel (Rennes, France) and became Professor of the same university in 1997.

His research covers a wide range of interests in numerical analysis and scientific computing, with a focus on boundary integral equations, finite element methods, discontinuous Galerkin methods and coupling of various numerical schemes. In recent years his activity has gravitated around wave propagation. He has published a monograph in 2016 on potential Springer delayed and integral equations with time domain boundary.
