Cartagena. Location of UPCT.

The historical city of Cartagena belongs to the autonomous province of Murcia. Cartagena is located in the southeast of Spain, right at the Mediterranean Sea.

The Technical University of Cartagena, UPCT is simultaneously a city and a campus University. Many buildings of the University played an important role in the 18th century, as they were used as naval hospitals, prisons, barracks or as marine schools. All buildings were completely renewed and restored.

How to get to Cartagena?

  • By train. In the website of renfe, you can get your train ticket to Cartagena
  • By bus. In the website of  Alsa, you can get your bus ticket to Cartagena
  • By plane. You have two airports close:
    • The Airport of San Javier is the closest airport. It is located approximately 32KM (20 miles) away from Cartagena.
    • If you arrive at the Airport of Alicante you need approximately 1,5 hours to get to Cartagena.
  • By car (into spain):
    • From Madrid. You have to take the road A-30 in the direction of Cartagena.
    • From the south. You have to take the motorway N-340.Once you get to Almería you have to change to the highway A-7.
    • From the east. you have to take the highway Mediterráneo (A-7)
    • From the west. you have to take highway A-91 in the direction of Granada.
